Bloubergstrand Accommodation & Restaurants:
Ask any Blouberg local for advice on the best Bloubergstrand accommodation and most will point you to the Blue Peter Hotel. Looking for excellent restaurants in Bloubergstrand? Again, try the Blue Peter Hotel.
The hotel has become an iconic Blouberg landmark and is one of our favourite restaurants where visitors can spend lazy afternoons on the front lawn overlooking the beach, sipping their favourite beverage to unwind and enjoy the picture perfect view of Table Mountain.
The hotel provides the ideal accommodation for both holiday makers and business tourists and is situated on Little Bay Beach, one of the top 3 kite surfing destinations in the world. It is within relatively close proximity to Cape Town International Airport, the city centre, various shopping centres, wine estate and other tourist attractions.
To complement their restaurant’s seafood based menu, Tony and his wife, Freda decided on a nautical theme. They named it the Blue Peter (a blue flag with a white square used to signal that a ship is ready to sail). They then painted the roof blue and hoisted the Blue Peter flag.
They also put the Lord Nelson ship’s figurehead on display. Apparently, it once adorned the bow of a British brig called Galatea and was found on the beach after a storm in 1945.
Accommodation at the Blue Peter comes in the form of 1 luxury suite and 14 other sea facing rooms which boast magnificent views of both Table Mountain and Robben Eiland, as well as 12 non sea facing rooms.
All accommodation at the hotel includes a delicious breakfast at one of their restaurants. The rooms are all en-suite and are equipped with:
- Safety deposit boxes
- A telephone
- Satellite TV
- Tea and coffee making facilities
The hotel has two fully equipped conference rooms with various packages available for both large and small groups.
One of two restaurants at the Blue Peter Hotel, The Lighthouse Restaurant offers excellent Cape cuisine (especially their seafood) with magnificent views to match through their bay windows.
The Lower Deck Bistro is the perfect spot for a casual supper after a day on the beach – perfect for sundowners and pizza.
